Yoshiko Hasegawa
Japanese Cloisonné Craft Artist
Born in Osaka. Graduated from Kyoto University of Education with a major in Western painting. Started cloisonne enamel painting while still in school.
From 1970 to the present, he has held solo and group exhibitions in Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, China, the U.S. (New York, LA, Houston, Tucson, Chicago), and Korea. He has held many solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, China, USA (New York, LA, Houston, Tucson, Chicago, Italy, etc.).
Conducts original research and development of silk screen cloisonne, urushippo, glass embryo cloisonne, kiraekura, and others.

1974 Published a new technique series “Cloisonne ware” (Bijutsu Shuppan)
1976 Began research on burning silkscreen onto cloisonne enamel
1984 Exhibition “Trends in the World of Jewelry Today” (The Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto and Tokyo)
1985 Developed lacquer coating on the surface of cloisonne enamel (Urushi Cloisonne)
1989 Announced “KIRAKURA” with mysterious sparkle
Lectures and workshops at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology) and Parsons School of Design (New York)
Lectures and workshops at the International Enamel Convention.
Awarded Silver Medal at the International Art Competition, New York
1991 Begins research on vitrémailles (cloisonné enamel on glass)
1992 Joined the collection of the Museum Shop, Museum of Modern Art, New York
1993 Became a member of G.A.S. (Class Art Society) and participated annually
1995 Begins to work with Entrepapier, a technique of making cloisonne, glass, metal, etc. on Japanese paper
