In her more than 50 years of creative activities, she has deepened cloisonne enamel art, and has expanded into new areas of creation by combining other materials and techniques, and by conducting original research and development.<\/p>\n

Urushippo\u00ae
Kilaeclat\u00ae<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>

The dramatic encounter between lacquer and cloisonne enamel, a traditional Japanese art and craft cultivated over a long history, has been named \"Urushippou\" and revived in the modern age as a new jewelry and craft.<\/p>\n

Kilakura is made of cloisonne, FRP, and metal with special plating and glass coating, then painted and baked eight times to create pieces with a unique and beautiful shine.<\/p>\n

Born and raised in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, glass and cloisonne have come a long way and created their own histories.<\/p>\n

In the Art Nouveau period of the 19th century, the Frenchman Brocard and the Japanese Aisaburo Tsunekawa left behind works in which wired cloisonne enamel was burned onto glass. However, the technique was not inherited and had become a phantom.<\/p>\n

After a lapse of 4,000 years, Yoshiko Hasegawa has newly introduced this glass cloisonne under the name of \"Vitr\u00e9mailles\" to the world.<\/p>\n

Cloisonne ware
Silkscreen Cloisonne<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Cloisonne, which decorated the golden mask of Tutankhamun 4,000 years ago, was introduced to Japan via the Silk Road through China and the Korean peninsula.<\/p>\n

Yoshiko Hasegawa created food motifs in cloisonne and silk-screened cloisonne by printing silk screens on cloisonne, thus entering a realm where no one had done cloisonne before and producing numerous works of art.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Entrepapier<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>

Entrepapier is made of Japanese traditional Ise-katagami<\/em> paper coated with lacquer and strained into Kozo<\/em> washi paper with cloisonn\u00e9, glass, and metal.<\/p>\n

Lampshades are made with molded Japanese paper designs based on kimono patterns carved more than 100 years ago.<\/p>\n

I moved to Tokyo from Osaka in 1064, the year of the Tokyo Olympics, and started cloisonne ware. Since then, I have been involved in various forms of modeling for more than 55 years. I have been holding exhibitions and gallery shows in the hope that you will see the culmination of those works. I would be happy if you could see a group of works that looks as if my toy box has been turned upside down.<\/p>\n
